About Loretta

Loretta Ross author photo

Since moving to Missouri with her family at the age of three, Loretta has only left the Midwest twice, both times when she was still a child.  She has never been to New York or California and has never been on an airplane.  In fact, she can't remember the last time she left the three-county area where she lives, works and visits family.

She has an AA from Cottey College in Nevada, MO, and a BA in art history and archaeology from the University of Missouri at Columbia.  (GO TIGERS!)

Loretta is single.  She lives in rural Henry County with three cats and three dogs.  The Reenactment is her first novel.

Other Works

Poetry:

Zombie Love Song.  This was written for my strange friend Christopher and his remarkably patient and understanding wife, Sharon

Song Lyrics:

NEW! Zeus's Song This is the result of hanging around Gary Corby's blog too much.  If you don't know Gary, you should!  He's one of my agent-siblings and his first book, coming out this fall, is sure to be a winner!  This link is to me singing.  Click at your own risk!

Lost at the Oarhouse Again The Old Oarhouse is a strange, atmospheric little bar on the Lake of the Ozarks.  I went there twice last summer to listen to the band Sinistir Rivir, fronted by my friend Lorena Crabtree.  I got lost both times, even though I was sober!

Short Stories:

Mr. Fix-It

Spinster Auntie's Visit
